This section is to explain the different strategies for the amount of MXP aquired.
-
- Normal
- This strategy involves killing units when it is beneficial to do so. Sometimes killing units will give a player more points than they want to have, so it is better not to kill even though it would give a player points. This is a good strategy for offensive accounts because it won't put them too high in points to attack the weaker players but will still have enough power to kill defending units if it is needed.
-
- Maximum
- This strategy involves killing opposing units whenever it is possible and buying MXP to try to maximize the amount of points a player has. This strategy is for people who try to stay as close to the top of points as long as possible. The problems with this strategy are that as an offensive account it will remove many potential targets and this strategy may put an account out of the range of a player's alternate accounts for feeding. This strategy is beaten by someone staying low and making a big jump by feeding one account with their other accounts. This strategy is better for defenders because the high MXP will give units a much higher power, allowing the defender to keep more of their gold.
-
- All
- This strategy involves buying no techs and spending all money on MXP. A player would have one tech and as much MXP as possible. This strategy should never be used anymore. I included it because it was used at least once in early ages when a player could get MXP from a player every three days. The idea behind this strategy is to have as much MXP as possible then at the very end of the age transfer all gold from alternate accounts or friends to buy as many techs as possible and get a massive points boost. Once again, this strategy should never be used anymore with the ten day wait before getting MXP from an account again.
-
- Little
- This strategy involves gaining a small amount of MXP to increase unit power, but still staying as low as a player can to avoid being attacked by the stronger players. This strategy is slightly better than the strategy listed below for defenders because defenders need to have a little more power to be able to protect their gold. This strategy really is not as good as other strategies, but it can be used.
-
- None
- This strategy involves not gaining any MXP from kills or buying it. This strategy does not work well as a defender because a player has no control over who attacks and could lose units to them. The reason a player may choose this strategy is to stay as low in points as possible. This allows them to attack the strong attackers for their gold, but can not be attacked by the same attackers because they are too low in points. Attacking the higher players is risky unless a player is completely sure they are not defending. A single killed unit can destroy this strategy. This is a good strategy because near the end of an age a player can buy a ton of cheap MXP for a massive boost in points.
